LaTrae Consulting Group is hiring an experienced
Commercial & Industrial HVAC Technician
for our client's site-based role in Claremont, NC. This position is ideal for a technician skilled in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining
large-scale HVAC systems —including
rooftop units, air-cooled chillers, water-cooled chillers, VAV systems, and cooling towers . If you have strong troubleshooting skills, an
EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification , and a passion for keeping critical operations running efficiently, this is your chance to join a top-tier HVAC service team. Key Responsibilities Service, troubleshoot, and repair
commercial HVAC systems (unitary DX, chilled water air handlers, CRAC units, VAVs).
Perform diagnostics on
refrigerant systems , electrical wiring, and control systems.
Maintain and repair
rooftop package units , cooling towers, pumps, and low-pressure boilers.
Utilize
electrical schematics
and mechanical drawings for accurate troubleshooting.
Identify and resolve
water flow issues
and optimize system performance.
Ensure all work meets
safety, environmental, and quality standards .
Must-Have Qualifications 4+ years
of experience as a
commercial or industrial HVAC technician .
EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification (required).
Proficiency in
rooftop unit repair
and
variable frequency drives (VFDs) .
Ability to diagnose electrical and refrigerant issues using technical schematics.
Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
Comfortable with physical demands: working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying temperatures.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills Trade school or HVAC technical degree.
Experience with
water-cooled chiller maintenance
and
DDC control systems .
Familiarity with pneumatic controls and large-scale HVAC service environments.
Strong tablet/computer skills for service documentation.
Proven adaptability and teamwork in
field service HVAC roles .
Physical Demands Lift and carry
50+ lbs
regularly.
Climb ladders and work in elevated areas.
Distinguish electrical wiring colors for safe repairs.
