The Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation (MLAC) is accepting applications for a full-time
Executive Assistant
to provide support to the Executive Director. MLAC is an exciting place to work and has an inclusive workplace culture. We are located in a beautiful office space on Tremont Street near Government Center in Boston. Currently, MLAC follows a hybrid work schedule and requires employees to work at a commutable distance to the Boston office.

SUMMARY OF POSITION This Executive Assistant will report to the Executive Director of MLAC and provide the support necessary for the smooth and effective functioning of MLAC.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide administrative support to the Executive Director, including research, planning, drafting, editing, and disseminating of general correspondence, memoranda, and other documents
Support the Executive Director by scheduling, preparing for, attending and note taking at meetings as assigned
Maintain accurate confidential files and data records for the Executive Director
Serve as the Secretary to the MLAC Board of Directors by coordinating meeting logistics, preparing meeting minutes, sending out board materials, managing the upkeep of Board information, handbook and the resources page on the MLAC website
Provide MLAC Communications team with updated Board information for the Annual Report and other communication materials as needed
Act as the liaison between the Executive Director and stakeholders to ensure consistent communication and timely decision-making
Ensure timely and effective completion of projects and initiatives of the Executive Director
Provide administrative support to the Director of Program Monitoring and Evaluation with preparation, dissemination and filing of contracts and related documents for the MLAC Fellowship and Peer Review processes
Assist other departments with event planning and coordination of logistics as needed
Handle logistics for the monthly staff meetings, and collaborate with the Operations Manager in organizing monthly staff birthday and annual staff work anniversaries celebrations
Assist with staff and intern hiring processes
Provide back-up support for telephone reception; respond to public inquiries for information
Process year-end individual donor acknowledgement letters and maintain individual donor database in Excel
Maintain and update MLAC data on MA Legal Services page
Participate in or assist with MLAC-sponsored events such as Walk to the Hill
Work closely with the Organizational Development Manager on various projects as needed
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
Experience with supporting executive staff and/or board
Experience and comfort with using Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, and scheduling apps
Proven ability to manage complex calendars and schedules
Attention to detail, organized and comfortable managing multiple projects at once
Capable of exercising discretion and good judgment, including sensitivity to confidential information
Strong writing and proofreading skills
Ability to work independently and in a hybrid team environment
Demonstrated interest in serving the non-profit and social justice sectors
Benefits
Salary range of $60,455 to $78,244 for this position, depending on experience
Employer-paid comprehensive health, dental, vision and disability insurance for individual employees and prorated for employee plus, and family
Generous paid sick and vacation time off, paid parental leave, 13 holidays, birthday off and increasing vacation time with tenure starting at 3 weeks of accrued vacation the first year
