Aug Prep is seeking a mission-driven community champion to lead the Connections Team, which encompasses three departments: Family and Partnerships: connecting Aug Prep families with support, partnerships, and resources to encourage holistic family engagement Outreach: engaging with the community to invite potential partners, donors, families and leaders to connect with Aug Prep Marketing and Communications: promoting, informing, and connecting Aug Prep with staff, students, and families These teams work collaboratively toward shared goals. The role requires a Christ-centered, entrepreneurial, and strategic leader to drive a focused, outcome-oriented strategy for communications, outreach, and engagement that advances Aug Prep’s mission. The right candidate will define success, establish metrics, prioritize high-impact work, and lead a healthy, high-performing team toward excellence in craft and strategic direction. Reporting Structure
The Senior Director of Communications and Engagement will report to the Chief People Officer. Responsibilities
Provide and demonstrate clear vision, leadership, and energy to the entire Aug Prep community, defining vision, priorities, and success metrics for each department in the Connections Team. Supervise four Aug Prep leaders and their teams: Family and Partnerships Manager, North Campus Director of Outreach, South Campus Director of Outreach, and Marketing and Communications Manager. Demonstrate exceptional team and people management skills; develop others; influence, inspire trust, and motivate others to achieve objectives. Establish and manage a performance dashboard to track progress and outcomes of key initiatives, aligned with strategic goals. Evaluate programming, partnerships, and campaigns for effectiveness and sustainability; lead change initiatives with attention to impact on mission and students. Engage staff, students, families and stakeholders to create outreach, engagement, and communication strategies that bring the mission to life. Support the Connections Team and other departments in crafting compelling narratives to drive enrollment, build community trust, and attract partnerships. Empower teams to expand Aug Prep’s voice, brand, and presence in Milwaukee and influence on key community issues. Serve as a communications advisor for Aug Prep leadership. Collaborate with the Connections Team to prepare and recommend budgets for programs; approve key expenditures. Qualifications
The candidate must be mission-driven, demonstrate the highest integrity, and be able to live the values, beliefs, and culture of Aug Prep. Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred Specialization in marketing/communications, community relations, nonprofit management or related field preferred At least ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience, including leadership roles in marketing/communications, community engagement/outreach, or related fields Strong leadership with vision, high energy, and the ability to motivate and inspire teams and the community Excellent organization, project management, and time management skills with attention to detail and follow-through Participating member of a church Demonstrated integrity and the ability to live the values and culture of St. Augustine Preparatory Academy Non-Discriminatory Policy
