Heavy Equipment Operator
Reports to:
Site Supervisor

Duties/Responsibilities:
Daily Activity 75% sitting and 25% walking or standing.
Sort through incoming recyclable material into designated bins onsite.
Assist co-workers with heavy items.
Maintain safety and cleanliness of the facility and general housekeeping.
Perform general labor duties as assigned.
Ensure the safety of company personnel and all customers as they are inside the facility by directing vehicle traffic.
Performs inspections at the beginning and end of the shift.
Operating front end loader and/or excavator safely and proficiently.
Performing light maintenance on equipment.
Sizing large steel and concrete for further processing in our recycling operations.
Visually screen construction and demolition debris for unacceptable materials.
Identify unacceptable material on incoming loads.
Communicate efficiently and effectively with truck drivers on where to offload incoming material.
Direct inbound loads to the tipping floor.
Assist co-workers with heavy items.
Maintain safety and cleanliness of the facility and general housekeeping.
Availability to work occasional Saturdays.
Other job duties will be added as needed.
Required Skills and Abilities:
3-5 years of operating heavy equipment
Experience with operating excavators or front-end loaders
Clean driving record and background
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
, Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Ability to communicate verbally with drivers team members and supervisors.
Experience with a skid steer, Excavators heavy and small, Wheel Loader, and Wood Grinder equipment ()
Be able to stand, bend, and walk, for up to 10 hours a day. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
Exposure to year-round weather.
