Description: The Department of Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor-level tenure-track faculty position in the Clinical Psychology program to begin August 16, 2026. The successful candidate will have a promising program of research, will contribute to teaching and student success at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and will demonstrate competency in incorporating principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the research and teaching contexts. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research focuses integratively on mental and/or physical health equity, and in one or more of the following areas: Health psychology; Implementation science; and/or person- and community-centered intervention development. UIC is an urban research university and a federally-designated Minority-Serving Institution, and applicants should be committed to advancing diversity and equity in the classroom, research laboratory, and beyond.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a productive program of research in Clinical Psychology with potential to secure external funding.

Contribute to teaching and student success at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Apply and model diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in research and teaching contexts.

Collaborate with colleagues on campus and with other universities and medical institutions in the Chicago metropolitan area.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Psychology by the time of appointment and completion of an APA-approved internship.

Scholarly productivity and potential for obtaining external funding.

Compensation and Benefits Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. The ranges are: Assistant Professor $113,000–$118,000 and Associate Professor $138,000–$145,000. The University offers a very competitive benefits portfolio. Final authorization of the position is subject to availability of funding.

Teaching Load Standard teaching load for tenure-track faculty in the department is three courses per academic year.
