This role reports to the Chief Accounting Officer and leads the Company’s Financial Reporting function as part of Finance’s risk management and reporting process. It is a high-profile position that supports financial reporting and other statutory/regulatory filings. Note: In-person participation is required throughout the year. Remote work is not remote-only. Attendance at team and company-wide offsites is expected and fully supported.
Responsibilities
Lead the preparation of all quarterly and annual filings with the SEC, in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, including preparation of monthly balance sheets, income statements, quarterly statements of stockholders’ equity, and disclosures. Coordinate the review and approval of quarterly and annual SEC filings with the Disclosure Committee, Audit and Compliance Committee, external auditors, and internal/external counsel. Support Investor Relations through quality assurance review of externally published materials and prepare/file the earnings release 8-K. Prepare the accounting/finance portion of quarterly Disclosure Committee and Audit Committee decks and present at the Disclosure Committee meeting. Maintain the SEC reporting calendar and project-manage the SEC reporting process to conform to the calendar, coordinating across teams. Coordinate with accounting policy on new accounting standards issued by the FASB and SEC guidance to determine impact on disclosures; write position papers as needed. Support management on special projects and provide financial reporting resources for ad-hoc questions and initiatives. Coach, mentor and manage the SEC reporting team across multiple time zones in a mostly asynchronous environment. Ensure SEC reporting processes and disclosures reflect best practices; implement improvements to simplify, standardize, and streamline processes. Perform financial reporting controls and document work/review performed.
Qualifications
Strong accounting background with thorough knowledge of US GAAP, SOX 404 and SEC financial reporting standards. Ability to research complex accounting and disclosure rules and clearly document conclusions. Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience; senior-level SEC reporting experience required. Combination of private and public accounting experience strongly preferred. CPA or similar designation required. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership. Excellent organization, project management, and analytical skills. High energy, positivity, endurance, and resiliency; ability to communicate across all levels of the organization. Highest levels of integrity and work ethic; meticulous attention to detail while aligning with overall objectives. Ability to work autonomously and coordinate the efforts of others across a broad range of levels. Experience performing and documenting controls over financial reporting. Familiarity with Workiva’s WDesk.

Financial Institutions / Fintech background. Prior technical accounting policy leadership experience. Familiarity with NetSuite.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full-time offers include target bonus, target equity, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)). Pay Range: $201,365—$236,900 USD
