Casualty
Claims Specialist
Union Mutual is looking for a skilled and experienced
Casualty Claims Specialist
to join our dynamic team of Claims professionals based in our Montpelier, Vermont office.
The Company will consider hybrid or remote work arrangements; however, this position does require the incumbent to be in the Montpelier, VT office as needed for specific trainings and Company events. It is preferred that the candidate be within driving distance of Montpelier, VT.
Key Responsibilities
:
Investigate various casualty claims, including but not limited to premises liability, construction defect, and multi-party litigation.
Manage defense counsel on litigated claims.
Document claim activities and participate in roundtable discussions.
Ensure accurate and timely reserves.
Review damage documentation in order to analyze and properly evaluate bodily injury and property damage claims at all levels of severity.
Review policy forms to verify coverage.
Review contracts to assess insurance and indemnification provisions.
Negotiate claim settlements within prescribed authority levels.
Job Requirements:
Must have current adjuster’s licenses in VT, NH, CT, RI.
Seven or more years of liability claims experience.
Ability to analyze and interpret policy language.
Experience conducting investigations and managing litigated claim files.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, negotiation skills, and a high level of critical thinking and judgement required.
Some travel required.
