Hybrid Position
Job Summary
The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for investigating the appropriate application and interpretation of company policies and acts as the escalation point for employees to resolve issues. This role ensures appropriate and timely subpoena adherence, conducts investigations and produces effective resolutions to employee issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides guidance to managers and employees on issues related to such things as EEO, ADA, performance, discipline and termination guidelines
Determines the appropriate application and interpretation of company policies for employee relations issues
Completes timely investigations and resolutions to issues raised by employees
Provides input and direction to managers across the business regarding organizational and individual alignment with employee expectations, organizational goals, FCC compliance, state, local and Federal regulatory requirement and employment & leave laws
Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
Provides ongoing training and development for new and existing managers in alignment with HR Generalists and business leaders
Assists in the development of EEOC and Affirmative Action Programs
Ensures all client sites maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
Participates in the development, monitoring and implementation of corporate policies across business lines in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages employees and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees.
Travel Requirements
Less than 25%
Education
Minimum: 4 Year/Bachelor’s Degree
: HR certifications but not required
Experience
Minimum Years of Experience:
3 years human resources experience
Demonstrated history of using experience and judgement to solve employee relations challenges
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Fluency in American Sign (ASL)
Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws to include FMLA, ADA, and Title VII
Be able to demonstrate the ability to multitask and problem solve
Must poses strong communication and interpersonal skills
Must demonstrate ability to effectively resolve issues/challenges
Microsoft Office Suite proficient
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Able to sit/ stand for a long period of time in an office environment
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools, and to handle other computer components
Perform repetitive arm and hand movements throughout the work day
Regular and predictable attendance required
Ability to travel to meet business need
Positive attitude, team player, good interpersonal communication skills and able to work across company departments.
