Job Details:
Key Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming.
Mix, match, and apply paints, coatings, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
Operate painting and blasting equipment, ensuring correct application thickness and coverage.
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications to determine painting requirements.
Inspect finished surfaces for quality, ensuring proper adhesion, texture, and appearance.
Perform touch-ups and repairs as needed.
Maintain painting equipment, tools, and spray booths in clean and working order.
Follow safety standards, including proper handling of paints, solvents, and protective gear.
Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience as an industrial painter (2-3 years).
Knowledge of industrial painting techniques, surface preparation, and coating systems.
Ability to read and follow technical drawings and instructions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Familiarity with OSHA and safety regulations for handling hazardous materials.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
Preferred
Certification in industrial coating or spray painting.
Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy equipment environment.
Forklift or overhead crane experience.
The hours for first shift is 7:00-5:30 (30 min lunch) typically 4 days, 5th day is overtime when needed. Right now we are on 40hr work week but typically 46-50hr work weeks.
