ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Capital Projects Manager is pivotal in planning and executing capital projects at LafargeHolcim's cement manufacturing site. This role involves leveraging extensive knowledge of engineering and construction principles to oversee complex engineering analyses and make independent decisions regarding project-related issues. You'll be responsible for defining project objectives, ensuring quality control, and promoting a safety-first culture.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
In this role, you will:
Ensure that health, safety, and environmental values are integrated into all project activities.
Commit to effective communication and adherence to safety policies in all work environments.
Manage and oversee the capital expenditure budget for the plant.
Plan, develop, and review complex engineering work, coordinating closely with discipline engineers.
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with plant management.
Facilitate technical discussions with clients, suppliers, and regulators to resolve issues and propose solutions.
Prepare and oversee project estimates and work plans, ensuring implementation aligns with budget and schedule.
Review significant bid summaries, major drawings, and staffing estimates to ensure project success.
Manage and maintain all contracts assigned to you, including attending site meetings and resolving disputes.
Verify accuracy of contract documents and blueprints, and manage subcontractor expectations and schedule.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We seek candidates with the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
5-10 years of project management experience in heavy industrial environments, preferably in the cement industry.
Strong knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and Microsoft Project.
Project Management certification (e.g., PMI or similar) is desired.
Willingness to travel 30-40% of the time, predominantly within the USA and Canada.
