Compensation: $26.00 - $40.00 per hour (based on experience)

As an
HVAC Startup Technician
, you will: Perform pre-functional inspections, checklists, and startup of commercial HVAC systems. Install unit accessories and ensure proper system operation according to manufacturer requirements. Diagnose and troubleshoot startup-related issues to ensure seamless system performance. Interpret drawings, submittals, and installation/operation manuals for accurate startup execution. Document all work with detailed reports for each system and unit. Assist installation teams by mounting and connecting field-installed devices as needed. Collaborate with commissioning agents and project teams to complete required documentation.
What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)
Experience:
5+ years in HVAC startup, service, or commissioning roles. Technical Skills: Proficiency with DX systems, water-cooled chillers, heat pumps, VAV boxes, and other commercial HVAC equipment. Strong understanding of HVAC system construction, troubleshooting, and performance testing. Hands-on controls experience (wiring concepts, programming, or software) preferred but not required. Familiarity with common installation codes and best practices.
Technology & Software: Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications and digital documentation tools. Experience with CX Alloy or similar commissioning software is a plus.
Licenses & Requirements: Valid driver's license (must pass background and drug screening). Ability to handle multiple projects and effectively manage time in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel to job sites as needed. (NC, SC, VA region)
