Cloud Systems Administrator

to join our high-impact Cyber Missions team in Laurel, MD. In this role, you'll be an integral part of a cutting-edge operations team supporting mission-critical analytics within a dynamic cloud environment. You'll work on a platform built using Java and open-source technologies like Kubernetes, Hadoop, and Accumulo-designed to support data-intensive analytics on a robust, managed infrastructure. What You'll Do: Ensure the stability and performance of day-to-day cloud operations. Provide expert-level technical support and troubleshooting across a variety of services and systems.

Collaborate with development and engineering teams to maintain and improve operational efficiency.

Support and maintain cloud environments by identifying and resolving infrastructure issues proactively.

Work with a wide array of technologies based on evolving customer needs.

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking a proactive, detail-oriented team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes initiative to solve problems. You should be comfortable managing complex systems and adapting to new technologies. Required Skills & Experience: Solid background in Linux systems administration and troubleshooting.

Familiarity with cloud-native and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Working knowledge of Hadoop ecosystems and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python).

Preferred Experience (a plus, not a must): Monitoring & Metrics: Prometheus, Grafana

Automation & Configuration Management: Salt, Ansible

Distributed Systems: HDFS

Project Tracking: JIRA

Virtualization & Cloud Platforms: OpenStack, AWS

Position Requirements: Must-Haves: 8+ years

hands-on experience with: RedHat/CentOS command-line administration

Linux/Unix networking (nmap, tcpdump, firewalls)

Kickstart provisioning and setup on RedHat/CentOS systems

2+ years

experience in: RedHat DNS Administration (DNS, DHCP, hosts files)

Kubernetes deployments using Helm charts

Infrastructure automation with Salt and Terraform

GitOps workflows using ArgoCD for CI/CD in Kubernetes

CI/CD pipeline development in GitLab

Monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana

Supporting and scaling AWS Cloud environments

Troubleshooting complex network/data flow issues

Strong background in managing and maintaining Kubernetes clusters in data-intensive environments

Experience in Linux-based cloud system administration for large-scale Hadoop/Accumulo clusters

Technical Skills: Proficient in

Bash

Experience with configuration management tools:

Ansible ,

Puppet ,

SaltStack ,

Chef ,

Terraform

System monitoring and network troubleshooting in cloud-based environments

Education & Certifications: Bachelor's degree

in a related technical field (Systems Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) OR

4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree

Certifications required prior to start: 8570 IAT Level I or higher ( Security+ preferred )

One of the following: AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate

AWS DevOps Engineer - Professional

Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

Clearance: Active TS/SCI with current polygraph

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
