Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Location: Blossom, TX
Reports to: Quality Supervisor Job Description:
Performing hands on dimensional inspections of machined parts and assemblies in an aerospace machine shop environment. Position requires inspection of first article, in- process, final and receiving inspections with completion related reports. Employee must be proficient in the use of height gages, micrometers, calipers, comparators, CMM (touch probe and/or Faro type.). Must understand aircraft industry drawings, terminology, and process sheets. Job Responsibilities:
Read & interpret blueprints, specifications & other internal documents
Inspection of all incoming material (casting, forging, bar stock, processed material, hardware, etc.) to verify its conformance to the requirements of all applicable documents
Perform dimensional inspection of manufactured components & assemblies which includes first part buy-off and final lot inspection per inspection documentation or traveler.
Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement
Use of and completion of AS9102 documents
Report inspection results per completion and maintenance of Inspection records/documents
Use of inspection equipment such as gages/tooling
Calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.
Initiating, handling of non-conformances for production as well as suppliers.

Education, Skills & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous inspection work in machine shop environment where parts were machined from castings, forgings, sheet metal, and bar stock
Understanding and ability to define and communicate (both verbally & written) non-conformances to shop personnel, vendors, and customers
Ability to interpret complex drawings & specs for machined parts from casting, forgings, sheet metal and bar stock
Ability to use precision measuring equipment and tools (calipers, height gage, indicators, optical devices, micrometers, CMM, Faro Arm, etc.)
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Mathematical skills such as the ability to calculate figures and amounts. It also requires the ability to apply and perform basic concepts of algebra, geometry, and trig
Self-starter and requires minimal supervision
Effective teamwork, interpersonal, and leadership skills
Understanding and ability to define and communicate (both verbally & written) non-conformances to shop personnel, vendors, and customers
Physical demands
Position may require use of hands & arms with repetitive motion & reach.
Position may require manual dexterity for handling tools and equipment.
Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
Position may require the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
Position may require the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Position may require bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
Position may require the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 30-75 pounds (50-75 lbs. would have partner assistance)
Position may require activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.
Work Environment
The plant is a machining environment; therefore, you may be required to wear respiratory protection due to air borne particles, chemicals & solvents depending on position. Safety glasses are required at all times in production areas. OSHA regulations are followed.
