$22.25-$30.75 / Hourly Registered Dental Assistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. The primary role of the Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is to assist the dentist in gaining the patient’s commitment to the best possible treatment, with urgency. Key duties include: Assisting the dentist in starting treatment and utilizing x-ray time to promote the dentist's qualities. Learning patient expectations and educating them with intra-oral pictures. Using effective chair-side skills and supporting the dentist’s diagnosis after examinations. Abiding by procedures for compliance with safety regulations, infection control, and permitted duties. Responsibilities Assist the dentist to gain the patient’s commitment for optimal treatment with urgency. Participate in the Perfect Patient ExperienceÔ by focusing on patient needs and concerns. Maintain a clean, sterile, and welcoming environment; prepare patients and assist the doctors to ensure efficient, quality care. Complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures as directed by the dentist. Instruct patients on postoperative and oral health care. Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment following ADA guidelines. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, ADA, etc.). Qualifications High school diploma or GED; required training courses for certification, licensure, or registration as per state mandates. Certifications/licenses as mandated by state (e.g., radiograph exposure, ultrasonic scaling). Associate degree or one-year certificate from an accredited institution preferred.
