nnJob Summary
nAs an engineering , youll work alongside experienced engineers to design, prototype, assemble, and test systems for electric vehicles. The role is designed to balance academic commitments while giving you hands-on, end-to-end exposure to EV development.
nnWhat Youll Work On

- Chassis: frames, suspension, wheels, brakes n
- Electric Powertrain: motors, inverters, electronics, sensors, axles n
- Battery Systems: modules, harnessing, Battery Management System (BMS) n
You may also work on:

- Assisting in assembly & design work n
Responsibilities:
nMechanical Engineering
n- n
- Create and update CAD models and detailed drawings; maintain revision control. n
- Design brackets, mounts, chassis components, and packaging solutions. n
- Support DFM/DFA, basic GD&T, and tolerance stack-ups; assist with fixture/jig design. n
- Fabricate and assemble prototypes; conduct fitment checks and functional testing. n
- Participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement. n
Electrical Engineering
n- n
- Assist with HV/LV power distribution design (contactors, fusing, DC-DC, grounding). n
- Support BMS integration, harness routing, and pack layout. n
- Develop/maintain wiring diagrams and harness drawings; support CAN integration and sensor selection. n
- Help bring up inverters/motor controllers; perform diagnostics and system testing. n
- Follow high-voltage safety and lockout/tagout protocols (training provided). n
General Expectations (All Roles)

- Hands-on shop work (battery sub-assemblies, harness prep, light fabrication). n
- Rotate across projects for broad EV exposure. n
- Participate in design reviews; maintain a clean, safe workspace. n
Minimum Qualifications
n- n
- Academic Standing: FreshmanSenior (or recent grad) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or closely related). n
- Skills:n
- n
- ME: CAD proficiency (e.g., SolidWorks/Fusion 360); basic mechanical analysis. n
- EE: Basic circuit fundamentals; ability to read schematics; familiarity with wiring practices. n
n - Attributes: Strong work ethic, detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to learn. Passion for cars/EVs and hands-on building. n
Nice-to-Have:
n- n
- ME: GD&T familiarity, exposure to FEA, shop skills (CNC, mill/lathe, composites, welding). n
- EE: CAN tools, harness design (Autosport/DTP), KiCad/Altium exposure, BMS/motor controller experience. n
- Test/validation, data acquisition, MATLAB/Python basics. n
- Club/personal projects (Formula, Baja, conversions, etc.). n
Compensation & Schedule

- Pay: $18 to $20/hour n
- Hours: Minimum 15 hrs/week (flexible around classes); additional hours may be available based on performance and project needs. n
