Or five years of combined training and experience as a clinical Seizure Monitor Technician or in similar roles. Pediatric experience required. Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center or similar size hospital preferred. Prior travel experience highly preferred. License: Credential in electroencephalography (R. EEG.T). Certifications: BLS certification through recognized entity required. Must-Have: Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program accredited Electroneurodiagnostic Program. Ability to perform diagnostic testing procedures such as electroencephalograms (EEG), evoked potentials (EP), nerve conduction studies (NCS), long-term monitoring for epilepsy, and continuous EEG monitoring. Knowledgeable in clinical neurology to guide test conduct based on relevant patient history. Description: The Technologist is a multi-skilled allied health professional. They will perform diagnostic testing procedures including but not limited to EEG, evoked potentials, nerve conduction studies, and long-term monitoring for epilepsy. The role involves working in various settings such as outpatient laboratories, emergency rooms, operating rooms, intensive care units, and at the patient's bedside. Work is performed under the supervision of senior staff and a physician responsible for interpreting results. The Technologist must analyze data during the recording to ensure information obtained is valid and interpretable. They will need to manage testing procedures based on patient history and demonstrate competence in handling various diagnostic equipment. The position requires interactions with a diverse patient population, including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. This role may also involve shifts in different units based on staffing needs. Travelers must have a permanent address located no closer than 50 miles from the work site. Weekend shifts may be scheduled based on unit needs. Candidates should be prepared for pass/fail testing with strict passing criteria. A telemetry exam will be required prior to the start of the assignment. The traveler will have two attempts to pass this exam. If unsuccessful, further credentialing or course completion may be necessary. The Technologist must maintain active competency in telemetry as required.
