Athena Resource, LLC provides outsourced Human Resources (HR) and Employee Benefit services to a multitude of employers in various industries. The Human Resource (HR) Generalist plays a vital role in the organization by managing various Human Resource (HR) functions for Athena Resources HR clientele. A successful HR Generalist will be a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who can multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment. They should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with employees and management. Additionally, the HR Generalist should have a strong commitment to confidentiality and professionalism while maintaining compliance with labor laws and regulations.

The roles and responsibilities of an HR Generalist are as follows:

Responsibilities:

  • Administer the organization's HR initiatives, policies, and practices
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws; support external and internal audits (e.g., OSHA, EEOC, SOC 2).
  • Lead and support employee hiring, onboarding, and training programs
  • Facilitate company-wide meetings, training sessions, and employee engagement activities
  • Maintain and manage employee records, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Guide employees and managers on HR inquiries, performance, grievances, and employee relations issues
  • Conduct employee exit interviews and analyze trends for client reporting
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to strengthen HR operations and organizational development
  • Manage employee data, track HR metrics, and provide insights to drive improvements for multiple HR Client
  • Act as a key resource for HR-related information needs and organizational development activities
  • Manage employee data and perform analysis of HR metrics to identify trends and areas of improvement
  • Administer payroll processing and audit payroll data for accuracy and compliance
  • Provide on-site HR support to clients through frequent local travel

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of human resource principles and practices
  • Interest in working across industries and engaging with diverse groups of people and leaders
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills
  • Proficiency with HR software platforms such as BambooHR, Rippling, and Paylocity, or similar systems
  • Ability to multitask, balance multiple deadlines, and prioritize workload
  • Dedicated home office space with reliable internet access
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees and management
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
  • Dependable vehicle for frequent local client travel
  • 3-5 years of experience in HR or related field
  • 2-5 years of experience with payroll preferred
  • Working knowledge of employee benefits and common insurance terms
