Job Summary

The BI Analyst position involves working in the Global Business Intelligence team at ADTRAN INC in Huntsville. The analyst will define, create, analyze, and deliver reporting requirements to support business decisions, utilizing BI tools like Tableau and Qlik for data visualization. The candidate should be motivated, energetic, and able to collaborate with IT, Business, and Application teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Data Analysis: Collect, process, and analyze complex data sets to inform decisions, identify trends, and support strategic planning.
  2. Reporting: Create reports and dashboards to present findings, using BI tools for visualization and accessibility for non-technical stakeholders.
  3. Support: Manage BI helpdesk tickets, maintenance, upgrades, and support tasks, serving as a point of contact for reporting issues.
  4. Data Modeling: Develop and maintain data models ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  5. Documentation: Document system requirements and specifications.
  6. Collaboration: Work with departments like Sales, Operations, and Finance to understand data needs and provide insights.
  7. Business Strategy Support: Provide data-driven recommendations and forecast trends based on historical data.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve data collection and analysis processes.
  9. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience with analytical tools like Tableau, Qlik.
  • Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server (T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS) and data modeling; Snowflake experience a plus.
  • Technical leadership experience.
  • Understanding of application and data security, SOX compliance.
  • Experience in Python is a plus.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US.
  • Willing to take responsibility and engage in on-the-job training.
  • Little to no travel expected.
