A well-known D.C. Litigation law firm is seeking a Legal Assistant with 3-5 years of experience to support one partner and several associates. This is a non-exempt hourly role with hours from 8:30am-5pm or from 9am-5:30pm, offering a hybrid schedule (four days in the office, one remote day). The successful candidate will perform full secretarial and administrative duties under minimal supervision, exercising a high degree of independent judgment and discretion. This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to prioritize effectively, and strong professional, diplomatic, and interpersonal skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide full legal secretarial and administrative support to assigned attorney(s)/paralegal(s). Arrange travel, schedule transportation, and handle hotel reservations. Answer telephones and assist with reception coverage as needed. Produce legal documents (correspondence, pleadings, briefs, opinions, complaints, administrative decisions, orders, subpoenas, etc.) from verbal/written instructions, dictation, notes, and drafts. Proofread and edit documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, format, and content. Input, retrieve, and update data in computerized systems. Open, log, and distribute incoming mail. Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, and hearing/court appearance materials. Maintain organized office files and records. Enter attorney billable/nonbillable time into Intapp. Schedule and manage calendars for assigned attorney(s)/paralegal(s). Download and manage documents from electronic court filing systems. Serve as liaison between attorneys, staff, clients, and external parties. Build and maintain professional relationships with clients and vendors. Job Requirements:
3-5 years relevant experience Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, NetDocuments, Innova, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, PowerPoint, Chrome River Expenses, Intapp Time, and the Litera suite (Check, Best Authority, DocXtools, Change-Pro, Compare, Concordance, iConnect, and Compulaw). Knowledge of federal, state, and local rules, filing procedures, and e-filing. Strong English usage, spelling, punctuation, and legal terminology. Familiarity with office workflow, organization, and filing systems. Ability to maintain confidentiality, show initiative, and exercise sound decision-making. Office environment with the ability to perform under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines.
