A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Quality Control Visual Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring that our medical components meet stringent quality standards. This position is essential to maintain our commitment to compliance and quality at Orchid.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Perform visual inspections of machined and polished parts to ensure they meet customer specifications and internal standards.
Maintain precise and accurate documentation throughout the manufacturing and inspection process in adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices.
Conduct comprehensive Device History Record reviews, including all inspection documentation.
Inspect incoming raw materials to verify they meet established specifications.
Engage in visual and dimensional inspection at various production stages using handheld inspection tools.
Utilize various gauging methods and tools to perform complete inspections on parts and materials.
Work collaboratively with Quality Engineering to identify and communicate potential non-conforming situations.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
Monitor inspection tools and equipment for proper functioning and escalate issues as needed.
Quarantine non-conforming parts or materials to prevent use until resolved.
Participate in completing First Article Inspections with minimal supervision.
Support and train new inspection personnel as required.
Inspect customer-returned parts to assess quality and compliance.
Promote a culture of health and safety for self and peers.
Adhere to all Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and participate in ongoing training.
Ensure the highest quality standards by performing accurate inspections and confidential reporting of results.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS No previous work experience required; however, experience in a Scientific Field and Quality Inspection is preferred.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS Technical Trade School (Preferred)
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS THAT ENABLE SUCCESS Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspection.
Proficient in using quality inspection metrology tools.
Mathematical and computer skills for data entry and reporting.
Good communication skills for collaboration and documentation.
Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T principles.
Effective time management and problem-solving abilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
Capable of moving within the facility as needed.
Occasionally required to handle and inspect equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
WORKING CONDITIONS Exposure to moderate noise levels in the manufacturing environment.
