Overview
Data Protection Engineer position with a leading international investment bank in Jersey City. This is a mid to senior level Data Protection Administrator in a large, diverse environment consisting mostly of Unix, Windows, and ESX servers. Hours: Candidate must be willing to provide 24x7 on-call support including some weekend work. Responsibilities
Day-to-day administration of backups for NetApp NAS, VMware and physical servers. Install, patch, and upgrade Spectrum Protect and Veritas Netbackup products. Regular/periodic operational tasks include installing and setting up data protection software and periodic patching/upgrading of the DP software. Generate backup reports on demand and satisfy periodic audit requests. Handle ServiceNow tickets for backup, restores, schedule changes, etc. Manage disk/tape hardware (Data Domain and LTO tape drives). Liaison with vendors on support cases and act as escalation for Unix and Windows backups troubleshooting. Work with Linux/Windows administrators on troubleshooting backup/restore issues and support related activities. Required Expertise
Tivoli Spectrum Protect (TSM) Veritas Netbackup Veeam Veritas Netbackup Appliance SLP, EMC Data Domain, NDMP, Tape Library Linux, Windows Primary Skills
Linux, Windows, VMware Oracle, MSSQL, Sybase Good to have skills
Experience with Linux/Unix, command line, shell and Python programming API programming Experience with SAN and NAS technologies Knowledge of cyber recovery and air-gap technologies Education & Experience
A bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience in the field or a related area is typical. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a field. #J-18808-Ljbffr
