Lead Project Manager Major Incident Oversight (Healthcare IT)
We are seeking a proactive, technically-skilled Lead Project Manager to oversee and drive major incident management processes within our healthcare IT environment. The ideal candidate will develop and refine processes to ensure each new incident becomes an opportunity for system improvement, thereby reducing risk and enhancing service continuity. A strong technical background in Cerner Millennium is required. Responsibilities
Maintain comprehensive logs of all major incidents, documenting key timelines, impacted services, actions taken, and outcomes. Track incident trends to identify recurring issues and opportunities for systemic improvements and reduction in major incidents. Develop and continuously refine a standardized client communication strategy for real-time updates during major incidents. Ensure transparent and consistent messaging to both internal and external stakeholders during and after incidents. Coordinate across technical, client service, and operational teams to identify root causes, define resolution paths, and establish preventative action plans. Lead after-action reviews/RCAs (root cause analysis) to ensure lesson capture and process evolution. Advocate for and lead the implementation of remediation steps, tracking their effectiveness and ensuring closure of identified gaps. Regularly brief executive leadership and operational teams on incident trends and mitigation efforts, driving a culture of continuous improvement. Serve as the senior technical escalation point for issues relating to Cerner Millennium and associated healthcare IT systems. Provide leadership and mentoring to team members regarding major incident protocol, system troubleshooting, and best practices. Qualifications
8+ years in healthcare IT with a focus on incident/problem management. Proven expertise in Cerner Millennium architecture, workflows, and integrations. Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities for client-facing and internal contexts. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional teams during high-stress situations. Certifications (preferred): ITIL (Incident/Problem Management modules), or other relevant Cerner certifications. Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only US: Hiring Range in USD from: $87,000 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
