Maintenance Technician
DoubleTree by Hilton – South Bend, IN
Salary Range:
$16.00 – $18.00 per hour (based on experience)

Our full-service property features Baker’s Bar & Grill, Starbucks, 15,000 square feet of flexible meeting and banquet space, an indoor pool, and a modern fitness center—all designed to offer a premier experience for our guests.
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician who takes pride in ensuring the safety, functionality, and overall condition of the hotel is consistently maintained to the highest standards.
Position Overview As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in both
preventive and corrective maintenance
of hotel facilities. You will ensure that systems, equipment, and guest areas remain in optimal condition—responding to maintenance requests efficiently while proactively identifying issues before they arise.
Key Responsibilities
Perform minor and routine maintenance on hotel property, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry tasks
Respond promptly and professionally to guest and team member maintenance requests
Maintain the safety and functionality of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas
Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance checks
Monitor and report utility meter readings and equipment performance daily
Assist in the programming of phone systems as needed
Notify management of major repair needs or potential upgrades
Maintain adequate stock of tools, supplies, and repair parts
Ensure adherence to hotel safety procedures and emergency protocols
Remain accessible to the Front Desk and Chief Engineer for coordination
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
Previous experience in facility maintenance, engineering, or related trades preferred
Basic knowledge and hands-on experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to use basic tools, measure accurately, and follow technical specifications
Comfortable working at heights, climbing ladders, and lifting materials as required
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays if needed
