Jira Developer
The Jira Developer will maintain, optimize, and expand the Government's Atlassian Jira Cloud environment. This position will combine deep expertise in Jira administration, automation, and customization with demonstrated experience in Jira Software and Jira IT Service Management (ITSM). Equipped with extensive knowledge of Jira Query Language (JQL), integration APIs, workflow design, and user permissions, this role will streamline business operations, improve system scalability, and ensure compliance with all functional and security requirements. The Jira Developer will bring specialized expertise in Jira on-premise-to-cloud migrations and a working understanding of access controls and identity management systems like Active Directory. This position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse. Responsibilities
Design, configure, and maintain Jira Software and Jira ITSM projects in the Atlassian Cloud environment. Develop and optimize JQL queries, workflows, automations, and permissions to support business operations. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable Jira solutions. Utilize Jira REST APIs and scripting (HTML/JavaScript) for customizations and integrations. Work with key plugins such as ScriptRunner, JMWE, Email This Issue, Extension for Jira Service Desk. Provide clear, well-structured documentation and communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Here's What You Need: 8 yrs: Required Experience managing Jira Software and ITSM projects, including workflows, permissions, and automations. 5 yrs: Required Expert-level proficiency in JQL (Jira Query Language) for building complex queries. 5 yrs: Required Experience using Jira REST APIs and scripting languages for custom integrations and enhancements. 5 yrs: Required Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to document technical processes clearly. 3 yrs: Required Hands-on experience with plugins like ScriptRunner, JMWE, and Email. Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment. Minimum Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail. Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner. Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately. Professional remote office environment. Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time. Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position. Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace. Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen. May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
