POSITION SUMMARY:

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for identifying and contracting external engineering firms to support projects in the pre-construction and construction phases. Additionally, this role will collaborate with internal and external teams to create and manage engineering standards for projects ranging from 50 MWdc to 200+ MWdc with the goal of optimizing site design for construction and operational efficiency for our solar, battery storage, and hybrid projects. This is role reports to the SVP of EPC Management and is a full-time position located in Durham, North Carolina.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify and contract external engineering firms to support value engineering activities for Civil, Electrical, Structural, Substation, BESS and SCADA design functions for projects in Heelstone's pipeline. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to optimize site layouts. Lead early engineering efforts to advance site design from the Development Stage to EPC contractor engagement. Coordinate engineering resources as needed to support Procurement for Owner-provided equipment. Review EPC contractor design packages before construction. Review Interconnection Agreements to assure project technical requirements are met. Ensure NERC compliance is incorporated in drawings and specifications. Manage outside engineers to support construction throughout the project lifecycle. Support Project Managers and Construction Managers with engineering resources as needed throughout the construction lifecycle. Support efforts of the Project Finance team and other related due diligence requests. Standardize Heelstone drawing and testing requirements. Standardize Heelstone technical specifications. Support Procurement to assist in standardizing equipment, including solar modules, racking, generator step-up transformers, high voltage breakers, inverters, and SCADA systems. Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technology, and best practices to continually improve value engineering processes. Other duties as assigned. SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALITIES

Highly proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Exceptional analytical capabilities and attention to detail. Self-starter that operates well in an entrepreneurial and collaborative environment. Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and responsibilities, and resolving issues proactively. Experience with Wind construction is a plus. Ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects, prioritize efforts, and work effectively under pressure. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Strong organization and management skills. EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree or above in Engineering preferred, with a preference for a degree in Electrical Engineering and/or a PE license; however, other relevant backgrounds will be considered. 5 years of experience in design engineering, value engineering, or cost estimation within the renewable energy industry. Knowledge of civil and mechanical engineering practices for solar and battery storage projects. Proficient with project development software (Bluebeam, CAD, GIS, PVSyst, Google Earth Pro, Microsoft Project). Total Rewards Package
