Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Support Engineer with strong expertise in Mirth Connect integration engine, EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner, and Athena etc.), and hands-on programming skills in Java, JavaScript, and Python. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting, troubleshooting, and enhancing healthcare data integrations with different CCaS like (UCCE, Five9, NICE CX1, etc.) and workflows to ensure seamless interoperability across Hospital and operational systems. Key Responsibilities Mirth Connect Support & Troubleshooting Diagnose and resolve issues in deployed channels, connectors, and message flows. Monitor and maintain integration engine performance, logs, and error queues. Optimize interfaces for scalability, security, and reliability. EHR Systems (Epic, Cerner, etc.) Support HL7, FHIR, CCD, and custom API integrations with Epic, Cerner, and other healthcare platforms. Troubleshoot interface-related issues impacting clinical workflows (ADT, Scheduling, Orders, Results, Billing). Collaborate with EHR teams to test, validate, and implement interface changes. Programming & Automation Develop and enhance scripts in Java, JavaScript, and Python for message transformations, automation, and integration support. Write utilities and monitoring scripts to proactively identify and resolve integration issues. Support development of APIs and microservices to extend system interoperability. Operational Support Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support for integration-related incidents. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (infrastructure, security, clinical applications) to resolve complex issues. Document solutions, best practices, and contribute to knowledgebase. Participate in an on-call rotation for high-severity issues. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Biomedical Informatics, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of hands-on experience with Mirth Connect (channel development, troubleshooting, deployment). Strong understanding of healthcare integration standards: HL7 v2/v3, FHIR. Experience supporting Epic Bridges, Epic Interconnect APIs, Cerner Millennium/OpenEngine, and Athena or similar EHR systems. Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, and Python for integration scripting and automation. Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL). Familiarity with Linux/Windows server environments and service management. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical healthcare environment. Preferred Skills Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, healthcare data security, and PHI handling. Exposure to DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes). Prior experience with ITIL or ITSM processes (incident, problem, change management).
