Position Summary The HVAC Controls Foreman is responsible for assisting in control system installations and contributes to planning, coordinating, and supervising projects in collaboration with the Superintendent. This role focuses on new construction and remodeling existing buildings, ensuring quality and efficiency in controls installations. Primary Responsibilities and Duties • Organize, coordinate, and supervise the work of Controls employees on construction projects. • Mount control panels, bend and install conduit, pull and terminate wires using acceptable quality methods, and mount control devices including relays, sensors, and current switches. • Train employees and determine work priorities, coordinating activities within the project and apportioning work among Controls employees based on abilities or specialized training. • Coordinate new construction and major remodeling efforts, attend meetings and reviews project documents such as contracts, specifications, and blueprints as necessary. • Collaborate with administrators on the supervision of all work operations. • Exercise control over the rate of construction progress to complete projects within time limits. • Lead inspections and commissioning of day-to-day construction work to enforce conformity to drawings and specifications. • Act as an adviser on job-related problems. • Review and approve timesheets of all craft workers under supervision before submitting to the craft Supervisor. • Interact with individuals requesting information or service, such as agencies, department heads, or others. Requirements • High school graduate or equivalent. • Any combination totaling four years (48 months) work experience in building construction, remodeling, construction project coordination experience. • General knowledge of all phases of building construction, including work commonly done by the various building crafts. • General knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems. • Knowledge of building materials, tools, and machines. • Knowledge of building material costs and wages. • Supervisory ability. • General computer, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to read blueprints and specifications for buildings.
