Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipping, Receiving, Cycle Counting, Inventory Control, and RGA Specialist to join our CED team. This role is critical to maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring timely and efficient movement of materials, and supporting smooth warehouse operations. The specialist will be responsible for receiving incoming shipments, preparing and shipping customer orders, conducting regular cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, processing and tracking RGA (customer returns), and maintaining accurate inventory records.
The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience in distribution or electrical products is preferred but not required. This position plays a key role in supporting both customer satisfaction and internal operational efficiency by keeping inventory accurate, orders fulfilled correctly, returns handled promptly, and warehouse processes running smoothly.
Reports to: Warehouse Manager or Profit Center Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
1-2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, or a warehouse environment
Basic knowledge of inventory management practices (cycle counting, reconciliation, stock rotation)
Proficiency with computers and ERP/WMS systems (such as Eclipse, SAP, or similar)
Basic math skills for counting, weighing, and measuring inventory
Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (certification may be required)
Good written and verbal communication skills for working with internal teams and customers
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations.
Prior experience in the electrical distribution industry or familiarity with electrical products.
Current forklift certification or demonstrated safe equipment operation.
Demonstrated track record of maintaining high accuracy in inventory and order fulfillment.
Additional Competencies:
Ability to process and track RGA's (customer returns) accurately
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
Strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Working Conditions:
Warehouse Environment: Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, and operating material-handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Noise levels may vary from moderate to high depending on activity.
Outdoor Work: Occasional work outdoors when loading/unloading trucks or handling materials, subject to weather conditions.
Office Setting: Some duties require use of a computer, phone, and office equipment in a standard office environment for processing orders, managing inventory records, and handling RGA paperwork.
Physical Demands: Regular lifting and carrying of materials up to 50 lbs., with occasional heavier loads requiring team lifts or equipment. Extended periods of standing and walking throughout the day are expected.
Safety: Adherence to all safety procedures, including the use of PPE (personal protective equipment) where required.

Essential Job Functions:
Shipping & Receiving
Accurately receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders.
Prepare, package, and ship outgoing customer orders according to company standards and carrier requirements.
Load and unload trucks safely using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment.
Inventory Control & Cycle Counting
Perform regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy.
Maintain stock organization, rotation, and labeling to support efficient order fulfillment.
Assist with physical inventory counts and audits as required.
RGA (Customer Returns)
Process customer returns (RGA's), ensuring items are inspected, documented, and routed correctly.
Maintain accurate records of return transactions and communicate with sales/customer service teams on status.
Warehouse Operations
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
Ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA standards.
Operate material-handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Administrative & Communication
Update ERP/WMS systems with accurate inventory and shipping data.
Communicate effectively with sales, purchasing, and customer service teams to resolve issues quickly.
Provide timely feedback on damaged goods, shortages, or discrepancies.
