Responsibilities

The Store Manager will manage and lead in a multiunit capacity.

Provide and model best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store.

Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.

Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using the Point‑of‑Sale (POS) system; provide correct change, receipts, and maintain high guest service standards.

Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer calls promptly, courteously, and professionally, using the GameStop phone greeting.

Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards guest loyalty program.

Recruit, interview, hire, assess, develop, and retain high-performing associates.

Ensure associates complete onboarding, job training, and compliance training prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethical responsibilities.

Communicate with store associates and District Manager to implement store initiatives; set guest service expectations and train staff in policies and procedures; supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates, Retail Keyholders, and Assistant Store Managers.

Schedule store associates following guidelines; manage staffing to ensure optimal guest service.

Approve payroll and manage time off requests; verify time worked and ensure accurate pay.

Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document feedback in the HR system.

Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in good working order.

Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily.

Perform store inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the floor.

Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as appropriate.

Lead the store team to meet or exceed sales, profit, and shrink goals; perform required administrative duties.

Balance daily transactions; complete closeout paperwork and manage bank deposits per guidelines.

Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct merchandise counts and communicate issues to District Manager.

Process defectives/recalls promptly and label shipments with packing lists.

Maintain safety for associates and guests; address hazards and report injuries per guidelines.

Maintain organized store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date.

Form professional partnerships with appropriate military personnel on assigned military bases where applicable.

Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.

Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.

At least 1 year of retail management experience required; at least 3 years of retail sales/guest service/management experience preferred.

Video game knowledge preferred.

Remain reliable, trustworthy, and able to work alone or move around the store for extended periods.

Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs and maneuver merchandise and equipment as needed.

Understanding of military ranks/insignia for stores on military bases where applicable.

Benefits Full-time store positions at GameStop are eligible to participate in incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance. Positions may be eligible for a bonus or other incentives.

Compensation $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
