Arcticom, LLC, a company within the BSNC family, is seeking a qualified Software Developer, JRNY for MLS2 for a remote position. The Journeyman Software Developer supports building complex applications/programs for our DoD customers. Candidates provide expertise in the design, development and implementation of solutions using common coding and development practices. Responsibilities Analyze existing code base and software repositories for deficiencies and errors. Collaborate with a distributed remote team, primarily online. Conduct code reviews and suggest improvements in processes and applications. Work with architects, analysts and other developers in software design and documentation sessions. Report on status of systems and projects on a regular basis. Resolve design and build issues and troubleshoot bugs, coordinating with the test team and requirements managers to ensure successful implementations. Participate in joint solutions design and advocate for long-term quality in processes. Review processes and procedures for software quality and data accuracy. Develop, maintain, and support a complex code base for DoD customer efforts.
Qualifications
Experience: 4-7 years Software Development / Engineering experience. Bachelors degree. Must have or be able to obtain a National Agency Check with Inquiries; US Citizenship required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Characteristics
Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Familiar with secure coding standards and processes (e.g., OWASP, code scans). Experience developing and maintaining applications on Java, Oracle, and related platforms. Experience with container-based computing technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and managing containers in various environments. Strong written and verbal communication and decision-making skills. Analytical and problem-solving abilities; negotiation and facilitation skills. Experience in writing and maintaining complex SQL queries and data structures.
Physical Requirements
Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods; most time is spent sitting with computer use. Safety and Clearance
This position is not subject to federal Department of Transportation safety-sensitive requirements.
Work Environment
Office setting with exposure to computer screens; extensive use of computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. Occasional travel may be required. Supervisory Responsibilities

Additional Qualifying Factors
