LIMS Application Support Specialist

Arlluk Technology Solutions (ATS), a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a LIMS Application Support Specialist to join our team. This is a remote position with the customer's primary location being in Manhattan, KS. This position will focus on providing operational support and maintenance for our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). The ideal candidate will have experience working with laboratory software systems and possess strong troubleshooting skills. This role is critical in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of our laboratory data management infrastructure, supporting scientists and laboratory staff in their daily workflows.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
The Application Support Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and support of our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). This role serves as the primary point of contact for end users experiencing issues with the LIMS and will work closely with laboratory personnel and IT teams to ensure optimal system performance.
Principal responsibilities include:
Provide technical support for the LIMS platform, responding to user inquiries and troubleshooting issues
Monitor system performance and coordinate routine maintenance activities
Create and maintain documentation for system processes, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures
Configure system settings, user profiles, and security permissions based on organizational requirements
Assist with data management tasks including data entry, validation, and reporting
Perform regular system checks to ensure data integrity and system stability
Coordinate with vendors for system updates, patches, and technical support
Train new and existing users on LIMS functionality and proper usage protocols
Support laboratory workflow optimizations through LIMS configuration adjustments
Assist in testing new features and functionality before implementation
Generate standard and custom reports from the LIMS database as required
Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing for the LIMS environment
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate LIMS with other laboratory and business systems
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Laboratory Sciences, or related field
3+ years of experience supporting laboratory software applications, preferably LIMS
Demonstrated experience with database management, SQL queries, and data analysis
Experience in a regulated laboratory environment (GLP, CLIA, ISO, etc.) preferred
Prior experience with system administration, configuration, and troubleshooting
Strong understanding of LIMS architecture, functionality, and configuration
Proficiency in SQL and database concepts
Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
Strong customer service orientation and communication skills
Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
Experience with software testing methodologies
Knowledge of laboratory workflows and processes
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
Time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Basic understanding of IT infrastructure (servers, networks, interfaces)
Desired Skills and Competencies:
Experience with specific LIMS platforms (e.g., LabWare, STARLIMS, LabVantage, etc.)
Knowledge of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PowerShell)
Experience with systems integration and API concepts
Familiarity with electronic lab notebooks (ELN) and scientific data management systems
Understanding of laboratory instrument interfaces and data automation
Experience with change management in regulated environments
Knowledge of data visualization tools
Project management experience
ITIL certification or knowledge of ITIL practices
Understanding of quality management systems in laboratory settings
