About the Role - CDL Class B Driver
We are thrilled to offer an opportunity for a
CDL Class B Driver
within our Orica USA Commercial team. In this role, you will drive Orica's bulk trucks (Mobile Mixing Units) and assist with the installation of blasting products at local construction sites, mines, and quarries, while also taking responsibility for equipment maintenance. This mixed role consists of 40% driving and 60% physical work related to the installation of blasting products. Key responsibilities include: Product loading and driving CDL trucks. Pulling hoses and climbing on and off the truck in various weather conditions. Operating plant equipment to deliver bulk explosives. Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Ensuring safe handling and storage of raw materials and dangerous goods. Minimizing environmental impact through waste control. Participating in safety meetings and toolbox talks. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday Local driving (1-3 hours) Early morning starts (approx. 3:00 AM - 5:00 AM) 10-12 hours per day Potential overtime Occasional overnight travel (up to 10%) What You Will Bring: At least one year of related driving experience preferred. Knowledge of DOT regulations required. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Attention to detail and math skills for inventory handling. Ability to efficiently prioritize tasks. Physical Requirements: Work in outdoor conditions year-round. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and carry 50 pounds or more. Capable of loading products, pulling large hoses, and climbing. Regular bending and squatting. Your Qualifications: Class B CDL required; Class A preferred. Tanker and Hazmat endorsements preferred. Air Brakes endorsement preferred. At least one year of driving experience preferred. High School diploma or equivalent.
