Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Field Network Engineer to oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of secure and reliable network services across industrial control systems (ICS), automation, drilling, and other critical business units. This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and strong leadership capabilities to drive operational excellence in field network environments. Responsibilities

Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of employees, customers, and communities as the highest priority Act as a technical leader within the field network team, providing innovative designs, mentorship, and strategic direction Architect and manage secure, performant, and efficient end-to-end network services for ICS, automation, drilling, and other critical systems Collaborate with business units to align network solutions with operational goals and deadlines Lead field network projects through their full lifecycle: initiation, planning, budgeting, execution, procurement, documentation, closure, and continuous improvement Set and achieve goals focused on optimizing field network operations across people, processes, and technology Utilize IT Service Management (ITSM) tools to manage and resolve incidents and service requests Schedule and execute formal change requests for firmware updates, security enhancements, and configuration changes Maintain thorough documentation and facilitate knowledge transfer across teams Provide solutions to complex integration challenges involving connectivity and multi-technology environments Work closely with IT, managers, and stakeholders to develop action plans for operational improvements Prepare and deliver written and verbal reports and presentations to management Keep stakeholders informed of changes and issues within the field network environment Provide 24/7 on-call support, including off-hours and weekend availability Model a strong work ethic and lead initiatives with flexibility and adaptability to changing business needs Basic / Required Qualifications

Proven experience in field network architecture and operations Strong understanding of ICS, automation, and industrial networking technologies Experience with ITSM tools and incident/change management processes Ability to lead cross-functional projects and mentor junior staff Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills Willingness to work on-call and respond to emergencies Preferred Qualifications

Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, GICSP, or PMP Experience in oil & gas, energy, or industrial automation environments Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for operational networks Background in managing network infrastructure in remote or field locations Seniority level
