Software Engineer - Network Infrastructure at Cloudflare. We are looking for curious, empathetic engineers to join the Cloudflare Network Interconnect (CNI) team. You will contribute to the control and data planes of custom network infrastructure, operating systems, and APIs supporting our product, and enable customers to connect with Cloudflare over private and high-speed data center interconnects. You will build software on one of the worlds largest edge networks, collaborating with engineers and product managers to create robust, automated systems that drive hundreds of gigabits of customer traffic. Responsibilities
Be a key technical contributor to the control and data planes of custom network infrastructure, operating systems, and APIs supporting Cloudflare products. Enable customers of Magic Transit, Magic WAN, and other Cloudflare products to connect with Cloudflare over private and high-speed data center interconnects. Build software on top of a large edge network and partner with engineers and product managers to create robust, automated systems. Qualifications
3 years of relevant Software Engineering or SRE experience BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience Rust programming Experience building on top of Linux networking primitives (e.g., ip, tc, network namespaces) Familiarity with data center networking tools and protocols (e.g., BGP, BFD, VXLAN) Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and backend systems, especially asynchronous architectures and serverless platforms like Cloudflare Workers Experience with running virtual machines on Linux Able to work across teams and implement common, sustainable solutions Strong written and verbal communication Bonus Points
Experience with Linux Switchdev or network OSes like Cumulus or SONiC Developing, working on, or modifying the Linux kernel Experience maintaining asynchronous and distributed HTTP backends for infrastructure or network configuration Compensation & Benefits
Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location. For New York City, Washington, and California (excluding Bay Area) based hires: Estimated annual salary of $154,000 - $188,000 Equity: This role is eligible to participate in Cloudflares equity plan.
