Job Description - Responsible for design and development of engine mounted cooling components. - Lead APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and CPPD (Concurrent Product and Process Development) activity to ensure cooling products are developed to meet time, cost, and quality requirements within budget. - Responsibilities include creating technical specifications, conducting DFMEA'S/ DVP&R and releasing the part. - Scope includes NPI, cost reduction, and current production. - CREO experience - Communicate with other engineering team members, GSND, suppliers, and customers. - Adhere to established standards, policies, and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, and ergonomics. - Some travel (less than 10%) to suppliers and Client manufacturing facilities is required. - Organization: LPSD's Cooling Products - Job Location: Mossville, Illinois

Typical task breakdown: NPI Work with suppliers to develop cooling components Co-ordinate with Client process partners as part of development process (Procurement team, Simulation teams and test teams) Review DFMEA and DVP&R Review and interpret the CFD/FEA results and costs Release the component in Client system Complete design reviews and present to leaders Resolve issues by involving tech experts
CPI Tear down and root cause analysis of current production components
Interaction with team: Job primarily involves lot of interaction with suppliers, simulation teams, customers etc. Excellent communication is a must
Team Structure Part of LPSD division, this team develops engine mounted cooling components for LPSD and IPSD-L engines. This team has technical leads and component engineers. A part of broader global team which has presence in India and China.
Work environment: 8:00 to 4:00 (typical timings)
Education & Experience Required: - Years of experience: 5 years working in Component design and - Validation - Degree requirement: B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace or Agricultural Engineering - Masters in mechanical, Aerospace or Agricultural Engineering with 2 years' experience in component design/Validation. - Do you accept internships as job experience: Yes - Are there past or additional job titles or roles that would provide comparable background to this role: Design Release position. Not looking for someone with just modeling/ drafting experience.
Top 3 Skills - Design release experience - Academic background in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and mechanics of materials - Experience with DFMEA/ Validation plans.
Additional Technical Skills (Required) - Previous supplier CPPD experience - CREO background
Soft Skills - Excellent communication and organizational skills - Good analytical and problem solving skills
Disqualifiers/Red Flags/Overqualifications: - Just detailing and concept design is a disqualifier.
Travel Requirement: 0-25 % , Domestic Travel Export Control Requirements: Yes
