The Supply Chain Manager is a key leadership role within the CSC NASA Configuration Center, responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of supply chain activities including operational purchasing, inventory management, planning, and internal logistics. This role ensures that materials and components flow efficiently through the facility to support high-mix, configure-to-order operations and on-time customer delivery. Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for all CSC supply chain functions, including purchasing, planning, inventory control, logistics, and compliance. Translate business objectives into actionable supply chain plans that support production readiness, customer delivery expectations, and inventory health. Serve as a core member of the CSC leadership team, contributing to operational planning, resource allocation, and performance improvement initiatives. Foster a high-performing, collaborative team culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Operational Purchasing & Supplier Coordination Oversee operational buying activities to ensure timely and accurate procurement of materials, components, and supplies required for product configuration and delivery. Collaborate with the sourcing and procurement teams to align supplier relationships with business needs, support vendor onboarding, and monitor supplier performance. Ensure compliance with sourcing strategies, documentation requirements, and applicable trade and procurement policies. Work proactively with internal stakeholders to manage material lead times, reduce supply disruptions, and align purchasing plans with demand forecasts. Inventory Management & Planning Lead demand and materials planning processes to ensure availability of the right materials at the right time, while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory. Develop and implement inventory control strategies that support production flexibility and customer responsiveness. Maintain accurate system data through regular cycle counts, reconciliation, and inventory adjustments in alignment with financial controls. Monitor inventory KPIs (e.g., inventory turns, accuracy, slow-moving items) and develop action plans to address risks or imbalances. Partner with commercial and operations teams to align planning cycles with customer demand, order patterns, and field priorities. Internal Logistics & Warehouse Flow Drive efficiency and accuracy in all internal logistics processes including receiving, put-away, internal transfers, kitting, staging, and outbound shipping. Optimize warehouse layout, material flow, and storage strategies to support configuration operations and ensure safe, lean movement of goods. Ensure outbound shipments meet customer specifications and are executed in compliance with applicable regulations, including trade and customs documentation. Support the development and monitoring of KPIs related to warehouse efficiency, shipping accuracy, and logistics cost management. Process Improvement & Systems Lead and support initiatives to enhance supply chain processes through lean methodology, root cause analysis, and cross-functional problem-solving. Utilize ERP (Infor M3 preferred) and planning systems to drive visibility, accuracy, and control across supply chain functions. Identify gaps in systems or workflows and partner with IT or business support functions to implement improvements. Champion data-driven decision-making by developing and reporting meaningful KPIs across purchasing, planning, inventory, and logistics. Compliance, Safety & Risk Management Ensure all supply chain and warehouse operations comply with Epiroc policies, safety standards, ISO requirements, and relevant trade regulations. Promote a strong safety culture across the team, including adherence to PPE usage, equipment training, and incident reporting protocols. Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier performance, inventory availability, lead times, and logistics execution. Maintain strong documentation and audit readiness for supply chain-related activities, including inbound shipments, inventory movements, and procurement records. Knowledge/Education Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations; Masters degree or APICS/SCM certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is a plus. Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in supply chain, materials planning, or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or configuration center environment. At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or people management role, with demonstrated success in building and developing high-performing teams. Strong understanding of operational purchasing, demand and materials planning, inventory control, and internal logistics. Experience working in a configure-to-order, high-mix, or low-volume environment is preferred. Proficiency in ERP systems (Infor M3 preferred) with the ability to interpret data, troubleshoot issues, and drive process improvement through system use. Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret trends, identify risks, and develop actionable solutions. Skills & Abilities Familiarity with lean principles, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, A3 problem solving) Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across functional areas, including operations, procurement, and commercial teams. Commitment to safety, compliance, and ethical supply chain practices. Ability to travel periodically to suppliers, product companies, or other Epiroc locations as needed.
