Senior Tax Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Tax Accountant to join a dynamic team in Melville. This role offers the opportunity to work in a stimulating environment where you can leverage your expertise in tax accounting to manage multiple client engagements and deliver exceptional service.

The client will only consider candidates from Long Island (NO NYC, NJ, or CT).

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee multiple client engagements, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
• Prepare and review complex multi-state corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and individual income tax returns, such as 1040s, 1041s, 1120s, and 1065s.
• Provide expert advice on estate, trust, and financial planning for high-net-worth individuals, including estate, gifting, and IRA strategies.
• Develop year-end tax projections and strategies for quarterly estimates and tax planning.
• Perform tax research and deliver training on relevant topics.
• Resolve tax notices and examinations with government agencies.
• Supervise and mentor staff accountants, providing constructive feedback and evaluating performance.
• Craft client-focused communications and deliver educational content, including webinars.

Qualifications:

• 35+ years of experience in public accounting with a strong, diversified tax background.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• Proficiency in CCH Axcess Tax, Engagement, and QuickBooks.
• Strong technical knowledge of taxation, complemented by exceptional communication and analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Proven leadership and staff development capabilities with a team-oriented mindset.
