Senior Software Engineer Production Support. Duration: Long term - through 2026. Interview: 1 round (first half behavioral, second half technical). Project focus: reducing Mainframe presence by modernizing and migrating applications to cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS. Responsibilities include developing and supporting Java-based APIs, building data-forward bridges from Mainframe systems to the Cloud, and contributing to event-driven architectures including Kafka listeners. The role centers on production support to maintain stability, performance, and reliability of key IWMS client platforms, with ongoing improvements and mentoring responsibilities. Contribute to production support for enterprise applications, with emphasis on reliability and continuous improvement. Collaborate on modernization efforts, cloud integration, and event-driven data flows. Provide mentoring and leadership in incident response and operational best practices. What the Client is Looking For
Key requirements include: 8+ years experience in enterprise application support, production engineering, or site reliability engineering. Strong hands-on skills with
Java/JEE, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs , and
Linux shell scripting . Experience supporting
cloud-hosted apps , preferably on
AWS
(EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM). Knowledge of
event-driven architecture
and working with messaging/queueing systems such as
Kafka, SQS, IBM MQ, RabbitMQ . Proficiency with
SQL
for querying and troubleshooting. Experience with
logging/monitoring tools
like
Splunk
and
Datadog . Incident management, root cause analysis, automation of support tasks. Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation). Good communication skills and leadership in incident response, mentoring, and operational best practices. Seniority level
