Warehouse Forklift Operator

Ryder is immediately hiring a temporary Warehouse Forklift Operator in Lafayette, Indiana. Positions pay weekly with hourly pay of $17.25 per hour. Schedule is Monday to Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. We want the right Warehouse Associate to join us at Ryder and work in the safest supply chain environment with state of the art equipment. Products being handled include automotive parts and items. Equipment includes sit down forklifts. Various warehouse fulfillment specialist roles at Ryder support distribution across the US. Each position includes on the job paid training and safety is always the first priority. State of the art equipment and caring leadership are provided. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent preferred, one (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred, valid forklift operator's license certified, strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently and as a member of a team, ability to be a team player and able to work within a diverse work environment, ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization, ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs, ability to stand for long periods of time, ability to work using health and safety methods, and must be available to work on a flexible schedule on the various work shifts. Responsibilities include performing warehouse functions which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting; performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract; responsible for the accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products and loading and unloading of trucks; responsible for dealing with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment; providing technical and maintenance support for different aspects related to the automated packing system during the core shift hour of production; and performing other duties as assigned.
