Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead and oversee initiatives that support our back-office systems in the Oil & Gas sector. The successful candidate will lead a team responsible for the implementation, support, and enhancement (version upgrades) of multiple applications and will drive the efficient execution of projects aimed at improving our financial processes and controls and reducing manual data loads through data integrations. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of Oil and Gas operations. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator who is driven to create value every day for internal customers, by supporting and maintaining existing applications while driving innovation.

Essential Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will lead a team that is responsible for the implementation, support and enhancement (version upgrades) of multiple applications.

Supported Applications: Excalibur, Enverus (OpenInvoice), Quorum (QLS, TIPS), etc.

Database: SQL Server, Oracle

Stakeholder Collaboration:Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns or roadblocks.

Communication:Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between back-office teams, IT, engineering, and other relevant partners.

Risk Management:Identify potential risks and develop effective triage plans to ensure objectives are met without compromising on quality or timelines.

Continuous Improvement:Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to continuously meet and improve upon Service Level Agreements (SLA's).

Leadership and Team Development:Mentor and guide teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

Preferred Experience:

Previous experience as a team lead or supervisor

Previous Database Development experience (SQL Server or Oracle)

Previous Application Development experience (Java, .NET, React, Angular, PowerShell, etc.)

Experience managing external vendors

Experience managing SLA's

Experience triaging issues to the correct teams for quick resolution.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders

Strategic and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities

Demonstrated experience understand infrastructure development operations

Job Overview

This position establishes strategy, develops business plans, and oversees and leads in the design, development and implementation of technology solutions to meet business needs. Leaders in this role provide leadership and oversight to manage performance and results in one or more Information Technology (IT) disciplines. Individuals will be accountable for the reliability, performance, security, and continuity of IT systems and supported business processes.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Provides leadership, influence, vision, and direction to the organization to contribute to achieving the company's goals

Works with IT leaders to develop overall IT strategy in alignment with business strategy

Oversees value stream by focusing on cost and risks of technology portfolio to meet business needs

Supports and fosters innovative technologies to deliver new ideas that enable business transformation

Ensures high levels of ongoing system and application performance in production environments

Oversees development of processes and tools to automate code releases from development to operations (DevOps)

Attracts, develops and retains a high-performing and diverse team

Establishes and drives technology roadmaps that align with current and future business needs

Manages third party technical and outsourcing relationships to deliver project and operational support objectives

Ensures technology processes are conducted in line with applicable standards and company policies

Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

High School Grad / GED

Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience

Experience: 7+ years

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree

Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years
