Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Network Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our wireless and IT network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security. This role requires a fundamental understanding of networking such as IP addressing, subnetting, routing , VPN, and network security. Installation experience with low voltage cabling and fiber is also required. As a Field Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and reliability of our network systems.
This is a contract to hire position at our office location in Fort Collins. Relocation is not provided. Local candidates .

Duties
Configuration and deployment of network hardware such as switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi, security cameras and IoT platforms.
Low voltage cabling and termination. Fiber termination a plus.
Monitor managed network performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Ensure the security of the network by implementing IPsec and other security protocols.
Installation, configuration, and management of Private 4G/5G platforms.
Build and manage virtual machines for wireless platform operating systems.
Maintain documentation related to network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
Utilize ladders, man-lift, and bucket trucks to install hardware at heights below 40 feet. Ability to lift weight up to 65 pounds is required.
Travel locally and out of state to support wireless network deployment projects with occasional weekend and holiday work required.
Skills
Proficiency configuring network IT hardware such as routers, switches, Wi-Fi and video platforms.
Proficiency installing low voltage cabling and hardware. Fiber termination experience an added bonus.
Fundamental experience with IT network security.
Experience with wireless technologies and configurations.
Familiarity with cloud platforms and virtual machines.
Experience with command line provisioning.
Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Teams.
Excellent communication skills with customers and team members.
Proven ability to complete projects and tasks with minimal supervision
A background in computer science or related field is .
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Professional appearance and attitude.
Military experience an added bonus.
This is a dynamic opportunity that can require long hours and travel. The projects from week to week are never the same and you will be working with several different cutting edge technologies such as 4G/LTE and 5G. This position requires a blend of hands on installation and technical integration. The right candidate will have an opportunity for rapid promotion and pay increase based on performance and initiative.
The first 90 days will be a full time contract role. A Full Time employee position will be offered upon successful completion of the 90 day probationary period.
