Expert Staffing west Is seeking a certified Journeyman Low Voltage Electrician.
Location: Lakeside, Ca
Pay: $35-40.00hr
Shift: 6am-2:30pm//Monday-Friday
Core Certifications & Qualifications
- California Blue Card Fire/Life Safety Technician certification (required for journeyman-level work in CA)
- NICET Certification (Level II or higher in Fire Alarm Systems preferred)
- OSHA 10/30 training (preferred)
- Valid California drivers license and clean driving record
Technical Skills
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Installation, programming, testing, and troubleshooting of fire alarm control panels (FACPs)
- Understanding of initiating devices (smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual pull stations) and notification appliances (horn/strobes, speakers, strobes)
- Familiarity with both addressable and conventional fire alarm systems
- Ability to read, interpret, and mark up fire alarm wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, and device layout drawings
- Compliance knowledge of NFPA 72, California Fire Code, and local AHJ requirements
- Electrical & Conduit Work
- Skilled in bending and installing EMT/conduit
- Proficient with pulling, terminating, and labeling low-voltage cable
- Ability to size conduit and wire for system requirements
- Integration & Testing
- Experience with system integration to other life safety systems (elevator recall, HVAC shutdown, sprinkler monitoring)
- Ability to perform acceptance testing with AHJs and inspectors
- Skilled in troubleshooting device or circuit faults quickly and effectively
Job Management Skills
- Ability to run a job site independently, including scheduling, managing labor, and coordinating with GCs and other trades
- Accurate daily job reporting and as-built documentation
- Ensuring all work meets contract specs, code compliance, and quality standards
- Managing materials, tools, and equipment on site
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in the field
- Excellent communication with project managers, inspectors, and customers
- Ability to train or guide apprentices and less experienced techs
- High attention to detail and safety-first mindset
