The Human Resources Manager for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Prescott Campus (serving over 600 full-time faculty and staff and over 3,200 students) serves as a key strategic partner and operational leader, guiding the campus's human resources functions in alignment with university-wide priorities and the institution’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and integrity. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, HR, and collaborating closely with the Prescott Chancellor and campus leadership, this role provides high-level strategic HR consultation while ensuring seamless execution of day-to-day HR operations.

The HR Manager is instrumental in shaping a positive and inclusive workplace culture through proactive employee relations, talent acquisition, engagement initiatives, and performance management. The position also leads efforts to ensure compliance with federal, state, and university policies and fosters continuous improvement in HR practices and service delivery. With direct supervision of the Prescott HR team, the Manager promotes a collaborative, service-oriented, and high-performing environment. This role emphasizes relationship building, leadership development, and change management, serving as a consultative resource for the campus community.

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Serve as a key HR advisor to the Prescott Chancellor and campus leadership, including college deans, department chairs, and directors, aligning HR strategies with institutional priorities.
  • Oversee the work of the Prescott Senior HR Partner and Student Employment Coordinator to ensure recruitment, employee engagement, retention, succession planning, and performance management strategies are effectively implemented.
  • Provide strategic input on organizational design, workforce planning, and culture-building initiatives.

Employee Relations & Training

  • Collaborate with the Employee Relations Manager and Executive Director on all employee relations matters, including:
  • Performance management, improvement plans, and coaching
  • Job descriptions, reclassifications, promotions, and developmental planning
  • Corrective actions and disciplinary processes
  • Develop and implement retention strategies based on feedback, surveys, and exit interviews. Assist with analyzing 30 and 90-day surveys, stay interviews (Altitude Checks), and exit interviews.
  • Ensure HR practices comply with Arizona employment laws and university policies.
  • Coordinate and deliver training, in partnership with the Learning and Development team, on topics such as performance development, employee conduct, and leadership skills.
  • Maintain a mindset of continuous improvement by evaluating and refining campus HR processes.
  • Oversee engagement efforts supported primarily by the Sr. HR Partner and Employee Engagement Coordinators at Daytona Beach.

Recruitment & Talent Strategy

  • Support recruitment efforts for staff, faculty, and administrative roles on the Prescott campus.
  • Facilitate succession planning by identifying talent needs and leadership development opportunities.
  • Spearhead change management strategies as ERAU Prescott grows and aims for 5,000 students.

Team & Project Management

Manage the Prescott campus HR staff, including:

  • Delegating tasks and overseeing projects
  • Conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback
  • Supporting professional development and training needs
  • Collaborating with the Executive Director of HR to align with university-wide strategies
  • Representing Prescott HR in institutional meetings and contributing to system-wide initiatives

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000.

Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Business, or HR Management

Required licenses, certificates, and/or security clearances:

  • HR Certification

Required skills, knowledge, and abilities:

Proficiency in MS Office, AI, strong communication skills (written and oral), flexibility, adaptability to change, prioritization in a busy small office environment.

Minimum years of relevant experience: 5-10 years in Human Resources.
