About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Human Resources and Equity Officer (CHREO) to play a pivotal role in the strategic and operational leadership of the organization's HR and equity functions. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO and Executive Team to ensure the implementation of the overall strategic plan and annual goals, with a focus on human resource management, organizational development, and equity. This includes developing and implementing HR and equity strategies, leading all HR functions such as talent acquisition, on-boarding, HRIS and payroll, job design, compensation, benefit strategy, employee and volunteer relations, union negotiations, and performance management. The CHREO will also be responsible for shaping the organizational culture, ensuring legal compliance, and creating an engaged and inclusive workforce.

Applicants for the CHREO position at the company should have a minimum of 7 years' experience in full-scope HR management, with a proven track record of providing strategic direction. Experience in a large, multi-site organization, particularly in a unionized environment, is essential. The role requires a leader with a deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging, and a strong ability to lead culture change. The ideal candidate will be data-driven, with a strong analytical mindset, and demonstrate operational excellence in optimizing HR systems and processes. Emotional intelligence, high-level communication skills, and the ability to build trust and collaborate with all levels of the organization are also key attributes for this role. A minimum of 5 years' experience supervising staff and relevant HR certifications are required.
