Our St. Henry Harvesting plant in Mercer County, Ohio, prepares the turkeys for further processing and distribution. Cooper Farms is currently seeking a Deboning Supervisor in Training to join our team in St. Henry.The primary goal of this position is the effective and efficient operation of the deboning department including support of daily production activities, proper and efficient utilization of equipment and materials while striving for and achieving departmental excellence.SHIFT HOURS: Monday through Friday (salary role) - 5:30am-3:00pm (approximately)STARTING RATE: Commensurate with experienceADDITIONAL PAY: Monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)Job Functions:Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and overall quality of productsInitiate appropriate steps to prevent workplace accidents and injuriesWork with deboning supervisors to improve inedible productInitiate and suggest plans to motivate team members to achieve departmental production goalsSupport and provide direction to deboning supervisors with problem solving and decision making. Help with AAR's to get to the root cause including audits as neededMaintain coverage in all areas in deboning when supervisors are out by filling in. This may include completing timecards and other needed activities in the areaWork with the deboning supervisors to achieve departmental production goals including quality, quantity, and yieldsSupport supervisors in your area during downtime events, with line meetings, training needs or finding better fits for team members based on performancePromote the Cooper Culture through trainings and personal demonstrationMaintain an active interest in performance level, attendance, and attitudeRequirementsHigh School Diploma (GED) - further education is preferred but not requiredThree years' experience in supervision in a manufacturing environment is required. Knowledge and experience in a poultry processing or food processing facility is preferred.Outstanding leadership skills and the ability to adapt to change, make quick and effective decisions, and lead a team are required in this position.Must demonstrate high standards for safety, quality, and teamwork.Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to communicate with people at all levelsMust be able to learn the basic functions of all line jobs, gain an understanding of the deboning processes in order to assist in situations that arise
