Maintenance Technician / Mechanic (Greater Indianapolis, IN)
An FDA processing & packaging facility is growing and needs more talented Technicians/Mechanics to join the team on a direct hire basis. As a team member, Technicians/Mechanics maintain, troubleshoot, and repair high-volume food manufacturing equipment, prioritizing personnel and food safety always. An entrepreneurial spirit and out-of-box thinker is needed, to share new ideas & solutions.
Responsibilities Respond & react to mechanical issues in the production environment in a timely & efficiently. Complete maintenance projects - PM tasks and work orders as assigned. Read electrical schematics & mechanical diagrams. Write parts requests, complete work orders, & write corrective work orders Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Perform building inspections & routines Communicate with other team members Perform Lock-Out-Tag-Out when necessary Requirements
Minimum 4 years work experience in a maintenance mechanic/technician role within manufacturing (welding, machining, plumbing, pipefitting, electricity. Must have strong mechanical & troubleshooting skills in AC/DC motors, motor control circuits, photo-eyes, sensors, etc.
plus
experience on conveyance systems. Familiarity with CMMS work order systems Experience working within an FDA-regulated setting is required Must have
good attention to detail & be able to understand verbal & written instructions in English Experience reading blueprints & drawings is a necessity Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision Must be able to work at heights from ladders or scissor lifts Must be able to work around very strong magnets Compensation, Shift, & Benefits:
