We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking

Controller

to join our client's leadership team. This is a hands-on role where you will oversee all aspects of financial management, provide strategic guidance to support business growth, and lead the continued development of the finance department. Reporting to the VP of Administration, you will also collaborate closely with executive leadership to ensure financial health, scalability, and long-term success.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mid- to senior-level finance professional ready to step into a key leadership role with the potential to grow into a senior executive position.

Responsibilities of the

Controller

will include:

Lead, manage, and mentor internal finance staff, external accountants, and consultants. Build and oversee a high-performing finance team to support company growth. Collaborate with department heads to align financial planning with operational goals. Serve as the in-house financial authority, partnering with executive leadership on strategic decisions. Monitor cash flow, budgets, capital planning, and overall financial health. Evaluate investment and growth opportunities to ensure profitability. Provide timely and actionable financial reporting to support decision-making. Oversee daily accounting functions including A/P, A/R, payroll, intercompany transactions, and general ledger management. Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Ensure compliance with sales tax regulations, including oversight of Avalara software processes. Oversee accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, and forecasts. Partner with external accounting firms for audits, tax filings, and strategic planning. Manage relationships with auditors, consultants, and banking partners. Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable regulations. Implement and maintain best practices for internal controls and risk management. Continuously improve financial systems, tools, and reporting efficiency. Document financial processes, controls, and decisions for clear accountability. Introduce scalable practices to support long-term company growth. Job Requirements

Qualifications of the

Controller:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required). 6+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including leadership responsibilities. Strong command of accounting principles, reporting, and compliance. Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, MS Excel, Google Sheets, and accounting systems. Exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial data.

Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, ranging roughly from $120,000 - $150,000.
