Meade, MD area. The Software Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving intricate software systems in accordance with specified requirements. Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements. Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual softwarecomponents. Minimum Qualifications 2+ years of software engineering experience Experience with JavaScript, HTML, Script Includes, Custom Scripts, and CSS (Example: Customer Entry Portals) Experience with ServiceNow Web Services (example: REST) with the ability to integrate external source systems into ServiceNow Experience with Server Linux O/S Administration/Maintenance and have the ability to perform platform upgrades/patch application Experience with DevOps scripting tools Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. Preferred Qualifications Experience with jQuery, AngularJS, JSON, and Jelly Advanced skills such as workflow automation and custom application development Experience with design and implementations of ServiceNow integrations and interfaces with 3rd party applications and data sources using extensible markup language (XML), Email web services, JAVA DB connectivity, LDAP, REST, ODBC, MariaDB, and Excel Ability to troubleshoot system and responsible for Tier(s) 1-3 Ability to create and configure business rules, UI policies/actions, client/server-side scripts, script includes, and ACLs Experience with SCRUM/Agile Board 2.0 development methodologies Ability to contribute to the coordination of application and platform upgrades. Monitor the health, usage, and overall compliance of ServiceNow and applications Write clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation: Requirements: System Design, CONOPS, Use Case diagrams, and topology diagrams Clearance Requirement Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Poly Physical Requirements Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time. Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as, the copy machine/fax machine/computer/printer.
