Big Delicious Planet is hiring enthusiastic, professional servers to join our 2025 wedding and events team!
This is an as-we-need-you event staff position. Shift times and locations vary for each wedding or event, but locations are generally in the city of Chicago for a 5-10 hour shift. Perfect for teachers, students, actors, and anyone looking for a few shifts a month!
All event BDP full-time, part-time and event workers must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination Must have great customer service experience and a friendly attitude Must have serving or host experience at restaurants or in hospitality, for at least 1 year Must have experience or willingness to learn setting up and working all types of events and service styles: buffet, family-style and plated meals Must have ability to learn quickly, and retain training. Job requires loading in and out of venues, setting up, cleaning up, recycling, managing rentals Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand on feet for long periods of time Must have event attire
Plain black short sleeved t-shirt for set up Dark black slacks or dark wash plain black denim jeans Comfortable black dress shoes OR clean black sneakers (all black or okay w/ a white Nike swoosh or Adidas/Vans stripes) OR clean white sneakers (all white or okay w/ a black Nike swoosh or Adidas/Vans stripes) Plain black button down long sleeve oxford/dress shirt **no frills or ruffles, NOT see through
Must be neatly groomed - hygiene and appearance is important in the food business! Hair should be clean and neat. Long hair should be pulled back in a neat pony or bun. Must be punctual and reliable - we depend on our entire staff to show up ready to work Events are usually in the evenings and weekends Candidates who are 21+ years of age are preferred
