Reports to: Woodland Church Children's Pastor
Status: Part-Time, Non-exempt
Hours: 20 hours/week
Workdays: Sunday: Two Services (serve one/worship one)
Wednesdays: Children's Ministry Team day at Battle Creek Campus
Other: Flexible office hours
Monthly: Once-a-month leadership team meeting and special events as scheduled.
Member of: Children's Ministry / Next Gen Ministry Team

Position Overview
The Woodland Kids Volunteer Coordinator is primarily assigned to the Marshall campus and supports the mission of Woodland Church by providing leadership, organization, and care that helps children grow in their faith. This role ensures volunteers are recruited, equipped, and scheduled, environments are prepared for Sunday Woodland Kids services, and families experience a warm, welcoming connection to the church.
Key Responsibilities
1. Volunteer Leadership
Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers for all Woodland Kids areas. Build and maintain a list of backup volunteers for last-minute call-ins. Find volunteer replacements ahead of Sunday, as needed. Organize, plan, and lead Sunday volunteer huddles. Support volunteers through encouragement, recognition, and appreciation efforts. Works in alignment with cross campus training events 2. Ministry Vision & Execution
Walk out the philosophy and vision of Woodland Kids as outlined by the Children's Ministry Pastor. Ensure Sunday services run smoothly, with prepared volunteers and well-set environments. Support family events, training, and other church initiatives as needed. 3. Family & Guest Relations
Develop and maintain strong parent connections. Coordinate First Sunday goodie bags and birthday bags. Write cards for new guests and ensure follow-up communications are timely. Celebrate and track kids' birthdays and volunteer birthdays 4. Administrative Duties
Maintain and update monthly checklists and check-in sheets. Attend monthly leadership meetings. Maintain accurate volunteer records, birthday lists, and communication logs. Qualifications
Work Related
Heart for children's ministry and serving families. Organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple projects and ministry software effectively. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Basic computer skills for curriculum preparation and Playlister setup. Able to lift and carry supplies/materials. Spiritual & Personal Qualities
Maintains a vital, personal relationship with Jesus and models spiritual maturity in all areas of life. A clear sense of calling to ministry with young children. Must display joyfulness, dependability, and is detail-oriented being able to handle a variety of duties resulting in positive results. Workplace Expectations
Fully supports and engages in the life and mission of Woodland Church. Complies with child protection and safety policies. Submits to church leadership, policies, and denominational guidelines (if applicable). Successfully completes a background check and ongoing training as required.
